The weather is

The weather is a neutral topic of conversation. Wherever you are, you can make a comment about the weather to a perfect stranger. This may start up a conversation that will pass the time pleasantly. Casual conversation does build the web that keeps society civil.

What if you're looking for weather information that will inspire an in depth conversation? Where do you go to get the clever facts for your area? Most folks might peruse The Weather Channel before going out. Yet, there are other weather fact sites where you might find that odd little fact that starts the conversation going in a direction that has a bit of character - more than the usual- "yes, it is warm/cold/wet/dry/humid,etc".

How do you find those sites?

Our Environmental Horticulture department uses weather information in their classes. They have found these sites to be useful. I admit to being fond of Trippish. It's like Google maps but with weather pictures. Now there's a conversation starter!
