In Los Angeles there is a weekend full of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first Star Wars movie. A Quick Search in GALILEO limiting the search to News/Facts and Reference with the search terms Star Wars 30 anniversary brought up an astonishing 108 hits on First.Gov - and most of them were about the movie!
My favorite newsy database is Lexis Nexis (use the Beta version, limit your search to the General World News and the News Transcripts for the last week. 997 article are pulled!

Organizing nature
Librarians think Dewey was a master at organization yet Linnaeus noted that “God creates, Linnaeus arranges.” Carl Linnaeus 300th birthday is cause for celebration.
Doing a Quick Search in GALILEO limiting my search to the Science list and full text brought up hundreds of articles from the Smithsonian's Organization Man in the Ebsco MasterFile to the Economists's Leaders: Hail Linnaeus; Species inflation through Research Library at ProQuest!
The password to use GALILEO at home is available from your Georgia librarian.

Collecting books
Todays AJC (Atlanta Journal Constitution) has an article about house size. Some folks are moving from multi bedroom houses to smaller homes. For bibliophiles - downsizing could be stressful.
Where do you put all those books that you treasure being able to touch at any point in the day?
NetLibrary has a Favorites and Notes section. As you're looking for information or seeing if your favorite book is on-line you can create notes (tab in the left column). The books with notes are then listed in the Favorites and Notes section. The notes include what page you were on in the book when you decided to make a note! I was usually in the index.
It came to me that one could put a note on the books in NetLibrary that you'd find useful- then you don't have to purchase them or store them or dust them or....
There is a short video How do I find...Create a Free Account in NetLibrary if you need a refresher. NMTC has over 40,000 titles in NetLibrary. There's bound to be something you'd find useful.

Words and meaning
What does a word mean? Using the dictionary gives you the definition as set at that time and place when the dictionary was published. We can think of words that used to mean one thing but now are totally different.
The Oxford Dictionary is noted as a Historical Dictionary of the English language.
"The Oxford English Dictionary is the accepted authority on the evolution of the English language over the last millennium." The OED gives definitions, etymological analysis, and quotations to demonstrate the use of words in the English language over time.
The web-based version of the OED include all information contained in the print counterpart plus at least 1,000 new and revised entries each quarter.
So what does that word mean? Or what did it mean?
You can access the Oxford Dictionary through GALILEO. The current password is available from your Geogria Librarian.
