Native Plants

I'm on a plant roll. Interesting article on Kudzu in the August edition of Southern Living (pg 48 "Turn the Tables on Kudzu: Eat the vine that ate the south. It's only fair" by Steve Bender). That's definitely not a native plant.

You can read Southern Living articles through GALILEO by way of Research Library (at Proquest). The Research Library at Proquest link is on the front page of GALILEO, on the left side, south of South America. The July issue of Southern Living is posted now (July 14) in Proquest.

GALILEO
....Research Library at Proquest
......Publications (4th tab from the left)
.........Publication search box - type in Southern Living (or whatever your favorite magazine is)
............Click on the link and there you go, Southern Living issues back to 1988!

If you're interested in Georgia Native Plants, you can go to this web site http://www.gnps.org/ (I've also linked it through GALILEO). Note the copyright date is 2002 and the officers term ended in 2003. Plant facts haven't changed. You would want to check on meetings, dues, etc though.

You get the password to use GALILEO at home from your Georgia librarian. GALILEO will be celebrating its tenth birthday in September. Thank your legislators for continuing to support this phenomenal resource available to all the citizens of Georgia.
