The Atlas

I read about a gentleman who, in retirement, wanted to point at a world map and travel to that location. Some folks study the Bible by opening it up and pointing to a Scripture passage. You can combine these two research styles by using an atlas to plan a dream vacation!

North Metro's atlas stand is near the Reference room (103A).

We have the 7th edition of the National Geographic Atlas of the World. In addition to the maps there is information about the countries- their flag, population statistics, religion, capital.

Become an armchair travelor - use the Atlas and the National Geographic magazine to dream about your exotic travels.

You can access full text articles from National Geograpghic through EbscoHost in GALILEO. Full text articles are available from 1995. The citations for National Geographic articles go back to 1888 with a reference on how to find a library in Georgia that would have the magazine.

The password for home use of GALILEO is available from your local Georgia librarian.
