The Horticulture program has won national awards at the American Landscape Contractors Association event the past few years.
Rex Bishop, one of our Environmental Horticulture instructors, has written a book:
A Field Guide to Woody Landscape Plants of the Southeast (you can find it in our library at SB 435.52 S67 B57 2002).
To assist horticulture students, we have added this web site to the GALILEO list of resources:
The Ohio State University Horticulture and Crop Science program (http://hcs.osu.edu/). The OSU WebGarden is a delightful place to find all sorts of plant information. The Images portion is one of my favorite places to browse: Images - (formerly Plant Dictionary) - A searchable database of high quality images featuring Ornamental plants, Turf, Plant Diseases, and Insects.
It's interesting to see the variety of students who participate in the Horticulture program at North Metro. It's not just for landscape company employees.
